The search advisory committee to help select a new University of Hawaii athletic director has yet to review any of the approximately 90 applications received so far.
But a spokeswoman for the 11-member group said the "committee is still trying to meet" the early November target date for naming a permanent AD, a spokeswoman said Monday.
No meetings are scheduled for this week, said Diane Chang of the Manoa Chancellor’s office, which is overseeing the process.
Rockne Freitas has served as acting AD since July 11, when he succeeded Jim Donovan, who has been reassigned as director of external affairs and community relations for the Manoa Chancellor’s office.
Chang said a subcommittee is still "working on securing the necessary amount" of donated funds to employ a search firm to aid in the process.
The school is seeking as much as $90,000 to hire an as-yet-undetermined mainland firm to assist in the search, according to documents filed with the procurement office.
